carnival day

It's been a tradition here in Fort Campbell,KY to have a carnival for a week during the 4th of July celebration.Last year was my first time to experience how Americans celebrate their Indepedence Day.It was a lot of fun going to the carnival and being a child in heart again.
This week,the carnival rides on post were up again.Since it was my day off last Tuesday,my friends and I went there.As usual we took few pics and had so much fun.




And tomorrow it will be my husband and I going there to watch the fireworks and prolly do some rides again.We'll see!!

it's that time again

When i was still in the Philippines ,i never thought that gardening could be fun.But last summer,when i saw the different varieties of plants and flowers that stores carry here,it made me want to try it.
When i started doing it,i was not sure if i made the right choice of plants,dirt and mulch and if i was doing it right.But when i saw sprouts starting to come up it made me so excited and more anxious to plant some more.And they all grew.Unfortunately i wasn't able to take pictures of the Annuals that i planted last year which died when frost came.



I also planted bushes (Boxwood in particular) and they are still growing healthy this year.



This year,i made sure that i'll be getting Perennial flowers instead of Annuals so that they will come back every year.I have not seen any sprouts yet but i'm sure they are coming.Oh,gardening is fun,it might need some of your time but it's all worth it.

When i came here in Kentucky almost two years ago,my husband was the only person i knew,talk to,hang out with and pretty much do everything with.Days and months had gone by and i was slowly knowing Filipinas in this place.Never had i thought that there's a lot of us here.Some of them were just acquaintances and there were those who became friends since then and until now.

I already heard from people before that it's hard to establish good friendships in a Military community because soldiers come and go and so are their wives.I didn't care much about that before until last Saturday when i went to one of my closest friends' going away party.Though there were lots of food,singing,catching up and fun,the essence of that gathering is still saying our goodbye(s) to our dear friend Jancy.Her husband will be stationed in Maryland soon that's why they need to move up there.Well,this is a part of being associated with Military but we all know that its for a good cause.

So much for that,we really had a good time at Jancy's.They've always been good in hosting parties.Me and the rest of her friends will surely miss that.Here are couple pics that we took:

Having two big dogs in our house ain't that easy.But the happiness and joy that these pets bring is unexplainable.Couple days ago i posted an entry about Tailie , felt guilty and then wrote something about
Kya.This time it'll be about their big brother,Rocky.
Rocky is just a couple days older than Kya but he protects her and us so good.He is also a pure breed German Shepherd just like Kya.My husband rescued him from his previous mean owner when he was just one year old.He was hesitant at first thinking that Kya,the lil brat might get jealous BUT he was wrong.Kya just love him to death the first time she saw him.They've gotten along so well since then except for some attention jealousy here and there.
When we first had Tailie,we were scared too that Rocky might get her but he was nice to her too.My husband can't even believe it since these dogs are known to hate cats with a passion but they welcomed Tailie and has been nice to her.
Here's a lil more info about our baby boy.


He loves to play with water.He thinks he can catch it but there's just no way.*lolHe also loves to play with ball just like Tailie but his is a basketball.You'll throw it in the air and he'll try to catch it and bring it back to you.


And lastly,he loves going for a ride and as a matter of fact i just gave him one earlier. Well, y'all now know how good and pretty are my companions here when hubby's not around.It may not be all the time that i can depend on my friends nor neighbors but my babies are just here all the time.Hence the saying "They are man's bestfriend".

As I've mentioned in my previous post,we have three babies in our house.I dont know if you would agree with me guys but everytime i see my post about our baby Tailie,there's somehow this guilt why just her.So,i decided to make an entry about our 2nd baby.She's none other than KYA (pronounced as ka-ya).

It took my husband forever to find this kind of a dog.He was so meticulous about it.He wanted an all white pure German Shepherd.He needed to see pictures of her from the the tip of her ears to her tail,making sure that there's no other color nor spot aside from white.Well,finally he found her but it cost him an arm and leg to buy her,i would say.He paid $1,500.00 for her since Kya was in Canada,figures!!!So,she was flown from there to here and made my husband so happy.The first time i saw her i was scared cause she's somehow big but realized later that she's such a sweetheart and a very pretty dog.

Anyway,Kya was born in December 17,2003 so basically she's a lil over 4 years old.She's a very smart dog but very stubborn as well.We can't help it but sometimes this dog can drive us nuts..
The first day my husband took her to school (spoiled brat,huh!!),the instructor tried to trigger her by waiving a red scarf,instead of chasing it,she chased this butterfly that she saw.People laughed at her,i mean who wouldn't.Anyway, couple months after,she graduated from school.She even had a picture wearing her graduation cap.It was not perfectly taken but a remebrance thats for sure to keep..
